THE dis-organisation characteristic of Ugandan football, took a new twist at
Entebbe airport yesterday. FUFA officials were yesterday thrown into panic
as the U-20 national team missed their 3pm flight to Nairobi.
The team had to be later rescheduled on another flight after frantic calls
to their CECAFA U-20 Youth Championship organisers. The team’s officials
blamed their fate on the federation vice president (Finance) Anthony Kimuli.
“As technical people we were ready by midday but were surprised when Kimuli
started skipping the schedule to leave for the airport.
"He delayed with the money for players and officials,” an angry official on
the contingent said.
The tournament starts tomorrow in Eritrea.
