ONLF said it killed dozens of Ethiopian soldiers

Intense combat operations by Ogaden National Liberation Front [ONLF] forces have continued in the Ogaden. ONLF forces targeted Ethiopian military bases, especially key enemy centres, inflicting heavy defeat on woyane [Ethiopian government] troops from which they can never recover.
Senior ONLF military officers told Ogaden Online reporters that fighting has mostly been taking place at army bases in the Ogaden. They added that the era when battles were fought in villages and rural areas was over.
The following is a report sent by Radio Freedom and Ogaden Online front-line correspondent on some of the battles that took place between August 16-29, 2010.
On 16 August 2010, a unit of ONLF operating in Dhuxun, Nogob Province, carried out a heavy attack on weyane troops stationed in the locality. Fifteen soldiers were killed and 8 others wounded in the attack.
On 17 August 2010, ONLF fighters mounted successive attacks against weyane soldiers who had come to Feedho Jeex, Korahe Province, on a military mission against local civilians. A total of 5 soldiers were killed and 3 others wounded in the attacks.
On 18 August 2010, a heavy attack was carried out against weyane troops at a place called Goodle,near Shilaabo which is Korahe Province. Twelve soldiers were killed and 11 others wounded in the attack.
On 20 August 2010, ONLF forces carried out a well-executed attack on weyane troops in Goda-Dhurwaa, Shilaabo district, Korahe Province, killing Twenty three soldiers and 22 others wounded in the attack.
On 21 August 2010, Ogaden liberation fighters carried a planned attack against enemy soldiers stationed at Kuus cadaad, Jarar province, killing 3 members of the Ethiopian army and wounding 5 others, some seriously.
On the same date, the unflinching ONLF forces carried out a heavy attack on enemy troops stationed in Xidh-digiiranle Nogob Province, killing 3 soldiers and wounding 5 others.
On 23 August 2010, ONLF forces killed eight weyane soldiers and wounded 10 others in an attack at a place called Anane near Babile town.
On 24 August 2010, Ogaden liberation forces carried out a nocturnal attack attack on a military garrison located Raqayga, Babili. Massive losses were inflicted on the enemy, details of which are not unavailable.
On 25 August 2010, fifteen woyane soldiers were killed and 20 others wounded in a similar attack in Ciinley, Jarar Province. On the same date, ONLF fighters carried out a well-thought-out raid on Shiniga, Nogob killing three soldiers and wounding 2 others.
On 25 August 2010, ONLF fighters and Ethiopian troops clashed in Bashuura, Nogob province. Massive losses were inflicted on the enemy, details of which are not unavailable.
On August 25, 2010, ONLF fighters and Ethiopian troops clashed in Malabley, Shabele province. The fighting killed 5 Ethiopian Woyane soldiers and wounded seven others.
On 26 August 2010, unflinching ONLF units mounted an attack on Ethiopian soldiers stationed in Safgo, Korahe province, killing three off them and wounding 2 others.
On 27 August 2010, ONLF fighters and Ethiopian troops clashed in Shabeeley, Korahe province. The fighting killed 3 Ethiopian Woyane soldiers and wounded 3 others. On the same date, two Ethiopian soldiers were killed and twor others were wounded in a battle that occurred in Kuus Bilcile in Korahe province.
On 29 August 2010, ONLF fighters and enemy Ethiopian troops fought a fierce battle in the village of Xamdhley,Nogob province. Three Ethiopian soldiers were killed and 4 others were wounded in the fighting. On the same date, enemy Ethiopian soldiers and ONLF fighters clashed in Gurjufka, Jarar Province, Massive losses were inflicted on the enemy, details of which are not unavailable.
There is constant fighting between Ethiopian troops and ONLF forces in the Ogaden region. Human rights organizations accuse the Ethiopian soldiers of violating the human rights by harassing the people in the Ogaden region.
