Eritrea GEDEM cement plant project
Eritrea GEDEM cement plant project is the national strategic industrial project of Eritrea State, which plays a significant role in promoting Eritrea's national economic development.
Under the leadership, guidance and support of Chinese Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Commerce, the Export-Import Bank of China, the Chinese Embassy in Eritrea, and the Commercial Counselor, on October 19, the company and the Eritrean Ministry of National Development signed a contract in Beijing to undertake the project of clinker cement plant in Gedem which will produce 1,000 tons cements daily for Eritrea.
The fund of the project is the preferential loans financed by the Chinese government. As the EPC general contractor, the company will newly build one clinker cement plant with 1,000 tons/ day productivity and related subsidiary ancillary facilities (such as water, electricity, Road) in Gedem region near the Eritrean port city of Massawa.
The scopes of the contract are as follows: investigation, design, equipment supply, installation and civil engineering construction, commissioning and performance appraisal, personnel training. Construction period is 36 months, at present; the project has been under building.
