Eritel boosts internet services in Eritrea
Sunday 21 November 2010 | 14:42 CET
The Eritrean Telecommunication Service (Eritel) plans to expand and upgrade internet service in a bid to sing up more internet users, AllAfrica reports. The firm's Head of Mobile Service, Mihreteab Tesfagergish, said the internet service is being provided in Asmara, Keren, Massawa, Dekemhare and Mendefera, with plans to expand this to the towns of Tessenei, Barentu and others shortly. Tesfagergish said one should understand the bandwidth taken in correlation with the capacity of the computer in use. He said that the main bottleneck is the fact that such service is being obtained at substantial expenditure from satellite.
