President inaugurates officially 20th Gulf Cup championship

ADEN, Nov. 22 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh inaugurated on Monday
the 20th Gulf Cup championship in 22nd May Stadium in Aden governorate.
The inauguration was attended by President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh
and President of Eritrea Isaias Afewerki, in addition to heads of the Gulf
participating delegations in the championship.
After the inauguration, an opening ceremony was initiated with a
participation of over 4,000 performers in about 30 minutes.
The ceremony will be followed by the first game of the championship between
the host Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
The 20th Gulf Cup championship kicked off today [Monday] and will end on
December 5th.
The participating nations of the championship include, besides the host
Yemen, six Arab Gulf states and Iraq.
The Gulf football cup is hosted in Yemen for the first time since its
accession to some GCC institutions nine years ago.
