Photographer's Note
Here's another picture from the black and white negatives I found recently at the bottom of my office drawer.
This is from an assignment to Eritrea in 1993 for the referendum on independence from Ethiopia. One of the days I was staying there I was taken on a tour with an organization assisting the local agriculture. We travelled maybe 70-80 km south of Asmara, the capital, and inspected some irrigation projects in small villages.
These grounds nere the village of Egri Mekel certainly look like they could need more water. I took a few pictures of small boys looking after the family cattle.
This was scanned from a Kodak negative.
