Progress That Reinvigorates Momentum

Tuesday, 21 December 2010 12:23 | Written by Shabait Admin

In line with the endeavors carried out in the previous years to ensure food security, the year 2010 has been a period during which the national development drive was strengthened to a greater extent besides laying down requisite infrastructures, as well as expanding and streamlining social services and other development undertakings. Accordingly, large-scale agricultural projects coupled with fair distribution of good rainy season have given rise to bumper harvest.
By and large, these impressive achievements that further consolidate Eritrea's strong conviction of self-reliance are the result of unremitting endeavors of the people and government. That to live on the fruition of your toil is not a newly introduced concept, but it essentially makes up a significant component of long-cherished national values.

On top of gross economic destruction, the Eritrean people's hard work for development had been deterred for many years due to colonization and prolonged war. After the country wrested independence, however, the entire Eritrean people and government have been striving to harness the limited national resources through redoubled endeavors. As a result, this nation of the hard-working now finds itself on the threshold of expedient development. The key for civilization and prosperity across the globe is not with the few monopolists. The secret is, nonetheless, work ethic and industriousness. In the face of unfavorable conditions, societies of the civilized world, who have eradicated poverty and backwardness, only managed to emerge victorious through ever-growing ingenuity.

Those who steered clear of momentary challenges, however, are doomed to a fate of hunger, migration and dispersion. The war-ravaged nation that cradled on its own has always opted out external guidance and assistance, but preferred instead to creating an enabling environment for all-round development program, by which the country's grand vision would be attained through hard work and commitment. Having redoubled industriousness, what the hoped-for level of development requires is thus commitment and bolstering the impetus.
