Qatar's Ambassador to Eritrea Hosts Dinner Banquet
Asmara, June 04 (QNA) - Qatar's Ambassador to Eritrea Mohammed bin Ali Al Nuaimi hosted at his residence at Doha Palace in Asmara a dinner banquet in honor of Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdurrahman Al-Thani, and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of completion of the restoration of Asmara stadium and the inauguration of the Qatari-Eritrean Friendship Hall. The function was attended by a number of ministers and Arab ambassadors accredited to Eritrea.
Ambassador Al-Nuaimi gave a speech in which he welcomed QOC Secretary General, his accompanying delegation and the Qatari army team which played a friendly match against the Eritrean Red Sea team.
Qatar''s Ambassador to Eritrea explained that the project in question comes within the framework of joint efforts between the two countries to push bilateral relations to the maximum levels and achieve common prosperity, particularly in the field of sport, pointing out that it undoubtedly constitutes an episode of the popular and cultural deep communication which would be enhanced more and more in future.
Addressing the members of the visiting Qatari delegation, the Ambassador said sport in our era has become the bridge between that links all peoples, thanking them for extending this bridge to an important region of the world and a sisterly state with which we have historical, cultural, economic and political ties, referring in this respect to the restoration of Asmara stadium and the construction of the Qatari-Eritrean Friendship Hall, which was built upon directives of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Ambassador expressed his pride and pleasure to receive that sports delegation saying "it gives me great pleasure to receive for the first time a delegation of this size representing the sports sector in the State of Qatar. This visit will undoubtedly be followed by other visits by similar delegations from different fields." (QNA)
