Chinese, Eritrean FMs hold talks on bilateral ties

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with his Eritrean counterpart Osman
Saleh Mohammed on Thursday, vowing joint efforts to boost greater progress
of bilateral relations.
Yang hailed the achievements of China-Eritrea ties since the establishment
of diplomatic ties 18 years ago, citing strengthened political trust and
sound cooperation in various areas.
Yang appreciated Eritrea's firm support for China on issues concerning the
country's core interests, pledging joint efforts with Eritrea to push
forward bilateral ties to a higher level.
Osman Saleh Mohammed spoke highly of Eritrea's traditional friendship with
China, and extended his appreciation to China for helping his country.
He said China played an important role in global affairs, adding Eritrea
would like to further enhance win-win cooperation with China in all fields.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Africa
and other international and regional issues of common concern.
