Dreamers about Arab Spring in Sudan will Wait for Long, Al Bashir

The Third General Conference of the National Congress Party (NCP) started in Khartoum Thursday with an unprecedented international participation of delegations from Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Austria, Mauritania, Eritrea, Comoros, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Chad, Mali, South Africa, Uganda, India, Malaysia, China, Niger, Nigeria, Jordan, Somalia, the United Kingdom, Lebanon, Palestine, Libya and Iraq. The opening session of was addressed by President Omar Al Bashir in addition some representatives of Sudanese and foreign parties.
Al Bashir announced that the upcoming government will be formed within few days with tangible participation of different political forces, lauding parties accepted to take part in government. He confirmed commitment to negotiations with all political parties in the country so as to guarantee stability peace and security as well as attaining aspirations of Sudanese peoples. He criticized those who look forwards to toppling government on uprising similar to what is taking place in some Arab countries, saying that such dreamers are to wait long.
Al Bashir commended broad participation in the conference, pointing that the international participation reflects Sudan's concern with developing its international and regional relations. President Al Bashir who is the Chairperson of NCP necessitated unification of efforts of all forces to boost government organizational structure at the federal and state levels, stressing importance of leaving behind tribalism to step towards new bright future based on cooperation. Further, Bashir renewed commitment to involve peoples in preserving security to prevent all forms of insurgency against legal authority, praising Sudan Armed Force (SAF) and other regular forces for tangible efforts resulted in beating insurgents in Blue Nile state.
Al Bashir expressed his hope that all Sudanese political forces will embark on reconciliation to upgrade peace and development through consultation, adding that negotiations with Darfur armed groups have resulted in signing Darfur Doha Peace Document (DDPD) under supervision of the African Union (AU), the United Nations and the Arab League (AL), appreciated the positive role played by Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani in Darfur peace process. He also commended Chairperson of Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) for signing DDPD.
Commenting on current economic difficulties confronting citizens, Al Bashir affirmed commitment to contain price hike via fighting brokerage, encouraging establishment of cooperatives, reducing government fees, increasing opportunities of micro-finance, appointing university graduates in addition to boosting mining sector. He called on NCP Economic Department to conduct comprehensive diagnosis for overall economic situation in the country so as meet expected difficulties timely.
President Al Bashir affirmed continuation of his party's program, pointing out that the party is open before all Sudanese populations, hinting that a recent study indicates that the NCP is among the ten biggest parties at the continental level.
Outlining NCP foreign policy, Al Bashir renewed commitment to openness to the world in order to establish effective partnerships with states as well as political forces across the world. He lauded participation of Chairperson of Libya Transitional Council Mustafa Abdul Al-Jaleel who arrived yesterday.
For his part, Vice Chairman of NCP Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie stated that the conference will review reports to be submitted on legal, organizational and executive performance of the party, pointing out that the conference coincide with Arab Spring inaugurating new era in the region based in rejecting all forms of subordination which coincides with the objectives on which Inqaz Revolution was previously based. He also pointed out the conference has come in coincidence with tangible variables overwhelming not the country but the world topped by secession of South Sudan, adding that the party is aware of the importance of weighing violations against stability and peace in Blue Nile and South Kurdufan within the context of targeting against Sudan conducted by particular foreign parties.
Nafie unveiled that the general conference has been preceded by 21, 910 conferences at grassroots level covering, adding that the preparatory conferences have been successful in 83 percent. He explained that the conferences conducted at localities' level witnessed participation of leaderships in the states where localities are situated, saying that meetings of Blue Nile and South Kurdufan states witnessed participation of NCP central leadership. He announced that the preparatory meetings have resulted in a crucial findings topped by necessity of addressing economic difficulties as urgent as possible.
Meanwhile number of foreign delegates expressed their commitment to reinforcement of relations with Sudan's ruling party to boost joint interests. Representatives of China Communist Party, Egypt Wafid Party, Chad National Movement of Salvation, Malaysia's ruling part and Austria Peoples Party addressed the conference. Austria representative who was Austria former minister of defense Werner Fasslabend expressed his country's comfort for NCP tangible capability in overcoming regional challenges confronted Sudan throughout the previous phase, criticizing the UN and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for not fulfilling obligations towards Sudan, adding that his country alongside with Belgium, Bulgaria, France and Romania has been watching developments in Sudan anxiously, calling on NCP to adopt emergency policies so as to overcome various challenges facing the country.
For his side, Head of Malaysia delegations Damo Adnan appreciated efforts carried out by NCP to preserve security and stability in the country, adding that his country is earnestly concerned with reaching for peaceful resolve for disputes taking place in Sudan.
Secretary General of Democratic Unionist Party (DUP)-Registered Jalal Al-Digair said that his party is committed to cooperation with NCP for the purpose of preserving national unity, marking secession of South Sudan as sorrowful split of Sudanese soil. "We advised South Sudan's leaders to preserve the good relations linking two nations which belong to the same origins however they have neglected our advice. They instigated (SAF) in Abyei, South Kurdufan and Blue Nile however our national army responded decisively to their instigations" Al-Digair said.
