The Eritrean Community Campaign Committee ECCC will host 2 - Day Festival from 15-16 September 2012 _at_ Lee Valley Sports Centre in Edmonton N9 OA.

“Bologna” is perhaps the most well-known of the Eritrean festivals in the Diaspora.

During the independence struggle, Eritreans from all over the world made the annual pilgrimage to the City of Bologna, to meet other Eritreans and to organize ways to support the people of Eritrea.

No matter how different or unique the Eritrean communities across the world might be, they all have something in common, they maintain a very strong link with Eritrea … and in “Bologna”, it all came together… as it will on 15th-16th September 2012, in London UK.

Eritrean communities as a whole, despite the formidable adversities placed in the way, have been able to retain their self-dignity, preserve and enhance their culture, and enrich themselves by a selective engagement with other cultures; their development will be one of the highlights of the 2012 Festival in London UK.

Eritrean Festivals around the world have increasingly welcomed more and more people to learn about Eritrean culture through music, dance and food, the Eritrean Festival in London UK will feature that and more.

Guest f Honour and H.E. Tesfamicael Gerahtu, Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to the United Kingdom & Ireland, will preside over the official opening of the Festival. The annual Eritrean Festival offers a wonderful and unique opportunity to introduce Eritrean cultures and traditions, and meet and share with Eritreans from all over the UK & Europe.

Eritrea UK Festival will provide participants with a fun and creative environment for networking and discovery. The audience will get a glimpse into Eritrean culture through colourful cultural performances, indoor and open air concerts, music dance, arts & crafts, exhibitions, bazaar shops, educational seminars, discussion forums, sports as well as fun activities for the children & youth on open air space.

The UK Eritrean Festival 2012 takes place at a time of great historical cultural significant to Eritreans. It will depict the socio-economic and traditional values of the people of Eritrea, and promise to be an unforgettable must see event for all.

The Festival will remain open to the public from Saturday morning 15 September until Sunday 16 September 2012 late evening.
