Asmara, 20 September 2012 – Around 1,650 new students have been
registered in the Eritrean Institute of Technology (EIT) in the new
academic year.
Dr. Tesfamichael Haile, Vice President of the Institute, disclosed
that the College of Engineering is accommodating new 344 degree and
302 diploma students, while the College of Science is receiving 517
students for degree and 164 others for diploma, in addition to the
323 freshman students in the College of Education. The figures may
increase as there are still unregistered students, he added.
Dr. Tesfamichael further indicated that a booklet as regards the
rules and regulations of the Institute, as well as the necessary
information has been distributed to students, and called on them to
make psychological preparations for college education.
Among the freshman students, Filmon Misgun and Semhar Musie said that
they have made ample preparations for their new career as college
students.
