Three Protocols of Eastern Sudan Peace Agreement (ESPA) Implemented

The Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, pointed out that
east Sudan peace agreement is considered successful by all means on
ground that it has ended the war and the military operations in east
Sudan, led to removal of the land mines, a matter that eased the
movement of citizens between the three states of east Sudan.
In a press statement Wednesday at the General Centre of the National
Congress on the third anniversary for the signing of east Sudan peace
agreement, Dr. Ismail said a number of major projects were set up in
east Sudan states at the cost millions of dollars, such as water and
electricity power projects. He said that the implementation of three
protocols of east Sudan peace agreement was conducted properly,
referring to the establishment of East Sudan Development Fund.
Dr. Ismail said that the signing of east Sudan peace agreement led to
re-opening the passages and establishment of a road between Sudan and
Eritrea, besides setting up villages to provide shelter for the refugees
and displaced people in east Sudan. He referred to the convocation of
Conference on Education in East Sudan lately, adding that conferences on
development and services in east Sudan will be held.
He said that many of the men of east Sudan movements were absorbed in
the Armed Forces, the security and police organs and the military
colleges in accordance with the Security Arrangements Protocol of the
peace agreement.
