President Al-Bashir Hails Deeply-rooted Sudanese - Eritrean Relations
Port Sudan - Nov. 16 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal
Omer Al-Bashir, affirmed that Eritrea is the real strategic depth of the
Sudan, and that the visit paid by the Eritrean President Issais
Afewerki, to Sudan following the false allegations of the so-called the
International Criminal Court (ICC) was the first ever visit to defy the
resolution. The President explained that his first external visit after
the unfair ICC move was to Asmara.
Addressing a big mass rally at Al-Baya'a Square in Port-Sudan Monday,
President Al-Bashir commended the role of the state of Eritrea,
reiterating that the national unity government is working to link the
two countries via ground a road from Kassala in order to facilitate the
movement of people and goods. He announced that the next year will
witness the construction of Tokar - Garora road in order to link the two
countries through a coastal road.
President Al-Bashir welcomed the participation of the Eritrean President
Issais Afewerki in the Third Tourism and Marketing Festival of the Red
Sea State and the festival of the National Tree Day which is being
celebrated by the Red Sea State.
He referred to the deeply-rooted relations between the peoples of the
two countries as well as the role played by Eritrea for the signing of
Eastern Sudan Peace Agreement, which was sponsored by the President
Afewerki.
Meanwhile, the Eritrean President Issais Afewerki, said the Eritrean
Revolution was launched from Sudan in 1967 with the support of the
people of Sudan, saying the distinguished relations between the two
countries would be reflected in the trade process and other aspects of

Presidents Al-Bashir, Issais Afewerki Plant Two Palm Trees as Part of
National Tree Day
Port Sudan - Nov. 16 (SUNA) - Two palm trees were planted by President
of the Republic, Field Marshal Omar Al-Bashir, and the visiting Eritrean
President Issais Afewerki Monday at the entrance of Port Sudan, the
capital city Red Sea state, signaling the launching of the National Tree
Day which is hosted by the Red Sea State.
Addressing a big mass rally at Al-Baya'a Square in Port-Sudan Monday,
President Al-Bashir said that the plantation of palm trees come as part
of the project under the theme of " a palm tree for each citizen in the
Red Sea State," with the aim to make the state a source for dates. MF/MO
