Somalia: Al Shabaab splits into two groups

MOGADISHU (Mareeg)-Al Shabaab militants have reportedly splitted into groups
after they have disagreed a formation of what they called an Islamic
government, Sources said on Saturday.
The group was busy for the last two months of forming an "Islamic
government" but they disagreed and a prominent group left.
The sources say a group from Hawiye and Digil &Mirifle clans left and united
under a new name of Milatu Ibrahim and formed a base in Karan District in
north Mogadishu.
The other group led by Ahmed Abdi Godane who is from Isak clan in northern
Somali made a base in Dayniile District in the capital.
Most of the foreign militants joined the new group of Milatu Ibrahim. Al
Shabaab is fighting against the Somali government and the African Union
troops in Mogadishu.
The group is also fighting with Ahlu Sunna Walajama'a religious group in
Somalia and also its former ally group Hizbul Islam.
Somalia: Al shabaab orders men to grow beard

KISMAYO (Mareeg)-Al Shabaab militants who control the port town of Kismayo
have ordered men in the town to grow beard and shave moustaches, official
said on Saturday.
Sheikh Ibrahim, an official of the Shabaab said they have issued a decree
ordering men to grow beard and shave moustaches.
"From today on the Islamic Administration orders all men to grow beard and
shave moustaches. The verdict will be effective after three days," said
Sheikh Ibrahim.
The administration had issued verdicts ordering the business people in the
town to close all businesses at times of prayers.
They have also ordered women to cover their bodies and the orders became
effective in Kismayo.
