Dr. Ismail: East Sudan Peace Agreement Brought Peace, Stability and
Development for the Citizens of the East
Kassala, Dec. 29 (SUNA)- The Presidential Advisor and envoy of the
President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, said that Sudan
is surpassing a historic turning point that necessitates cohesion of the
internal front and self-denial and keeping away from partisanship,
tribalism and regionalism.
This came in his address to a celebration held at the area of
Nazlatal-Ummda, the Locality of Western Kassala in the State of Kassala,
to mark the launching of Abas International Association.
The occasion was attended by the State Minister at the Ministry of
Transport, Roads and Bridges, Dr. Mabrouk Mubarak Saleem, the Wali
(governor of Kassala State, Salah Ali Adam, and members of his
government, along with an Arab delegation of 12 countries, headed by the
chairman of the International Abas Association in the Arab World,
Engineer Mubarak, and a number of the native administration chieftains
and leaders.
Dr. Ismail lauded the role of Al-Rashayeda tribe in the fields of
national and charity work and the defence of the faith and the homeland.
He conveyed to the gathering the greetings of the President of the
Republic. Dr. Ismail also hailed the leaders and the citizens who
contributed to the realization of peace and the signing of East Sudan
peace agreement, commending the efforts exerted by the Eritrean
President, Assais Afwerki, and the Chairman of East Sudan Front, Musa
Mohamed Ahmed, and his companions.
He said that East Sudan peace agreement has elevated the principles of
the unity, stability and security of Sudan, referring to the removal of
landmines, implementation of rehabilitation and development projects and
the establishment of peace villages.
Dr. Ismail affirmed the special concern being given by the President of
the Republic for the establishment of development projects all over east
Sudan. He stressed that the coming elections will be characterized by
fairness, transparency and preservation of the social fabric. MO/MO
