1. Eritrean air force planes have bombed military targets in Adi-Grat
yesterday evening. Since Ethiopia's declaration of war on may 13th, Adi-Grat has been transformed into the main garrison for reinforcing the invading Ethiopian army and a center for army logistics.
Ethiopia has started the air-attacks by carrying out two air raids in a row on Asmara on June 5, and 6th respectively. Over 30 civilians were killed and wounded in the air-raids.
The Ethiopian Government has further threatened that it will carry-out incessant air-strikes in Eritrea against major population centers and warning that international commercial airlines as well as vessels calling on the ports that international commercial airlines as well as vessels calling on the ports of Massawa and Assab will not be spared from this unlawful act of air-piracy. The Government of Eritrea has urged the international community including the International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to condemn these acts of terror.
2. The clashes that erupted yesterday on the eastern border between Eritrea and Ethiopia on the road to Assab have subsided. The Ethiopian army has been repulsed back to its positions.
3. An Italian delegation headed by the Under-secretary of State, Senator Rinno Serri, will be arriving in Asmara today to promote peace talks between Asmara and Addis Ababa.
