Hilton Humphries highlights how advocacy and activism have influenced the AIDS response over the past four decades and how the continued involvement of communities is key to reaching global goals of ending the pandemic.
A hashtag is a functional tag widely used in search engines and social networking services to allow people to search for content that falls under a word or phrase, followed by the # sign. First popularised by Twitter in 2009, today nearly anything political with the intent of attracting a wide audience is now branded with a catchy hashtag. But, warns Eugenia Ha Rim Rho, hashtags often have the opposite effect. In fact, they actually make people trust the surrounding information less.
