Toronto, 25 March 2016 – The National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in Toronto Canada conducted general meeting ( ) on March 25 2017 under the theme “Strong women’s organization: Foundation for Multi-faceted development”. The general meeting was attended by NUEW, PFDJ and as well as invited guests from city of Toronto and its environs.
The Chairperson of the NUEW branch in Toronto Canada, Ms Nezhty Haile AKA (TiTi) gave briefings on the objectives of the Union and the activities undertaken as well as the challenges encountered over the past years. Ms Nezhty also highlighted the challenges and achievements towards the implementation of the Project (Adi Ka’ala), hence goals and agendas to fulfil by the NUEW members in future was also commented by the chairperson.
The Consul General at the Consulate General of the State of Eritrea, Mr. Tuemezghi Tesfa Tirfe, underlined that the NUEW is a social force that plays a significant role in the national development endeavors. He also made a strong remarks on transferring the values and commitment of the Union to the Next Generation. The general meeting participants charted out activity plan and elected an executive committee for a four year term. In closing remarks, the participants of the general meeting expressed resolve to reinforce organization and back up the national development programs.
