The Embassy of the State of Eritrea to the United Kingdom and Ireland wishes to convey its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those that have perished in the fire of Grenfell Tower in London and extends its wishes of a speedy recovery to those that have been injured in the incident.

The Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to the United Kingdom and Ireland, His Excellency Mr. Estifanos Habtemariam and members of the Embassy staff visited the devastated area of the 24-storey block in north Kennsington which was destroyed by fire on Wednesday morning, to pay his respect to the victims of the harrowing tragedy. The Ambassador spoke with some residents of the neighbouring areas and to the authorities at the site. At this given time, as a result of the ongoing investigation, the Embassy does not have sufficient information of the numbers and details of those that are unaccounted for but remains in communication with relevant authorities.

The Embassy of the State of Eritrea wishes to reiterate that it will cooperate with and assist all Eritreans affected to help them locate the whereabouts of their unaccounted loved ones.
