Halhale College of Business and Economics graduates 315 students

Asmara, 03 July 2017- Halhale College of Business and Economics graduated 315 students out of which 42% female students on 01 July in degree and diploma.

192 of the students graduated with degree and 124 with diploma in different fields of study including in Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Public Administration and Banking.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Estifanos Hailemariam, dean of the college, stated that education is a vital instrument for ensuring social justice as well as sustainable national development. He also said that the huge investments made in education in the past 26 years of independence attest to the government’s commitment and continuous efforts to advance free educational opportunity to all citizens.

Dr. Estifanos pointed out that the college over the past 10 years has been fully engaged in launching undergraduate programs, promoting fields of education, advancing the capacity of teachers as well as strengthening joint efforts in cooperation with stakeholders to initiate research based undergraduate programs.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Askalu Menkerios, Minister of Tourism, underlined that tremendous educational advancements have been achieved owing to the substantial investment made by the Government. Minister Askalu also called on the graduates to live up to the nation’s expectations.

In the same vein, representative of the graduates expressed appreciation for the opportunity they were provided and voiced commitment to serve their country and people with dedication.

The Halhale College of Business and Economics has so far graduated 4,694 students since its establishment in 2005.

Denden Commercial School graduates 436 students

Asmara, 26 June 2017- Denden Commercial School graduated 436 students in certificate on 24 June.

The students out of which 72% are female students were graduated in Book Keeping, Secretarial Science, Material Management and Library Science.

The Director of the school, Mr. Daniel Jambo called on the graduates to practically upgrade their skills and live up toexpectations in the national development endeavors.

Mr. Tesfai Seyum, D.G. of Technical and Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education, said that the government is heavily investing to nurture youth that will efficiently participate in the nation building process.

Differen awards were handed over by different government officials to outstanding students.

Wina Technical School graduates 144 students

Massawa, 22 June 2017- Wina Technical School has on 18 June graduated a total of 144 students that included 33 females who studied a 2 year-long theoretical and practical education at a certificate level.

The courses provided include general mechanics, wood and metal works, electricity, construction, survey and design.

Speaking at the graduation event, Mr. Kaleab Zeru, Director of the school reminded the graduates to exert efforts to practically upgrade their skills and play due role in the nation building process.

Mr. Berhane Araya, head of Finance and Administration in the Department of Technical and Vocational Training and Education, on his part indicated that vocational training is the foundation of the overall development of a country and that the investment being made on education emanates from that vision.

Hagaz Technical and Agricultural School graduates 99 students

Keren, 05 June 2017- A total of 99 students graduate with certificate from Hagaz Technical and Agricultural School on 01 June out of whom 42 are females.

According to Brother Isaias Tsegay, Director of the school, 26 students graduated in Agro-Mechanics, 24 in Veterinary Science, 30 in Horticulture and 19 in Soil and Water Conservation.

Brother Isaias pointed out that the objective of the school is to develop agricultural produce, produce competent researchers, ensure food security as well as strengthen forestation activities and commended the interest demonstrated by the graduate students.

Mr. Tesfay Sium, Director General of the Department of Technical and Vocational Trainings at the Ministry of Education, called on the graduates to apply the skills they acquired in the national effort to ensure food security.

The representative of the graduates expressing appreciation for the opportunity they were provided expressed readiness to live up to expectations.

Since its establishment, the Hagaz Technical and Agricultural School has graduated a total of 2289 students.

College of Marine Science and Technology graduates 131 students

Asmara, 05 June 2017- A total of 131 students of whom 49 of them are females graduated from the Massawa College of Marine Science and Technology with degree and diploma. The students were graduated on the 2nd of June in different fields of study including Fisheries and Marine Biology, Marine Engineering as well as Fish Feed Technology.

Speaking on the occasion of the 10th commencement of the graduation, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, Minister of Fisheries, stated that Eritrea is endowed with an extensive water territory in the Southern part of the Red Sea and that regulations and policies are being drafted so as to ensure a sustainable ecological balance for generations to come. He further said that the government is exerting effort to ensure the advancement of human capital equipped with the necessary skills in the endeavor to succeed the set objectives.

Pointing out that in the past 10 years the college has graduated 1420 students, Dr. Zekaria Abdulkerim, Dean of the College, said that the college is playing significant role in advancing marine resources and thereby contributing to the ongoing national development drive.

Dr. Zekaria also pointed out that the college is currently equipped with modern research equipment and qualified teachers and that the students have been able to obtain practical education in different fields of interest. He also called on the graduates to apply the knowledge they acquired into practice.

Representative of the graduates reiterated readiness to live up to expectations.

The Massawa College of Marine Science and Technology was set up in 2005.
