Three arrests after mass battling Eritreans at Sade Zaandam
Three men of 22, 28 and 29 years from Germany, Hoorn and Heiloo were arrested by the police in the night from Monday to Tuesday for assault after a massive fight at party center Sade at Mahogany in Zaandam.
Approximately 80 police officers had to be involved to evacuate the party, in which around 350 Eritreans were present.
During the party, according to the police, "different people were fisted with each other and a lot of violence was used."
The organizer decided to end the party, but the visitors refused to leave, after which the organizer requested the help of the police. Even after the arrival of the police, no response was given to the request to leave, after which the building was evacuated.
"During the eviction, police officers and security personnel were pelted with bottles and chairs by the aggressive group of people present. The police finally expelled the people by force.
Outside the occasion, the crowd again turned against the police officers and pelted them with stones. With the final deployment of approximately 80 police officers, several batches were carried out to stop the peace disturbance. After some time, the peace returned.
According to the NOS , the Eritreans from all over the country came to Zaandam to listen to a band and celebrate.
The police also threatened the use of firearms in the fights. Then a large police force came to Zaandam. He cleared the case and escorted a large part of the Eritreans with police dogs through the center of Zaandam to the station. A helicopter was also used.
The police put rioting youngsters on the train to Amsterdam at around 6 am, which led to a delay in Zaandam, according to ProRail.
