Yakob Habtesion—fighting cancer
Yakob is a
loving husband; a doting father to his four beautiful children ages 13, 11 (twins),
and five (5); an awesome brother; and a loving son. Anyone who knows Yakob,
knows him as a family man with a heart of gold. He is selfless and always willing
to lend a helping hand to anyone without expecting anything in return.
In 2010, his
then 6-year- old son was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma – a rare form of
childhood cancer. Yakob, along with his family, put a divine fight. His son was
able to beat cancer successfully.
In May 2016,
Yakob was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon
Cancer, which had spread to his lungs. Determined to beat this cancer,
Yakob took several rounds of chemotherapy treatments with some progress in the
cancer origination area but not in his lungs. Repeated chemotherapy caused his
lungs to collapse during thanksgiving week and be hospitalized. No matter how daunting it may be, Yakob
continues to fight this tough battle.
Witnessing
the day-to- day suffering of their dad, his children motivated his wife, Rahel,
to search endlessly for alternative treatments. As a result, they found one—may
be last option – Lentzloc (an immune-based non-toxic cancer treatment).
Lentzlo
cancer treatment is not FDA approved but currently approved in Germany with
some success rate. Each treatment can cost up to €55,000 ($66,000 US dollars)
and with three treatments to yield positive results. Yakob and his wife, Rahel,
are preparing to travel to Germany for several months.
His family
has come together to ask for your kind
help to spread the word and raise funds for this treatment to help
Yakob continue the fight.
Please keep
Yakob and his family in your thoughts and prayers!
Thank you
for your support and May God bless you!
Sincerely,
Yakob’s
Loving Family
