President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea has met with a top Russian governor for talks in the area of multi-layer investments in his country.
Information minister Yemane Ghebre Meskel confirmed on Sunday that Governor of Sverklovsk Region of the Russian Federation, Mr E.V. Kuivashev, was in Eritrea on a two-day visit.
‘Met with President Isaias Afwerki and other senior officials to explore prospects for investment in various sectors,’ his tweet added.
Eritrea has long been labelled as an isolated one-party state, claims the government has historically disputed. Its engagement with foreign governments have been more visible in recent times.
The region of Sverdlovsk reverted to its name of Yekaterinburg in 1991. It is a city in east of the Ural Mountains. It’s known for the golden-domed Church on the Blood, built in the early 21st century.
