Addis Ababa July 10/2018 A joint committee which implements the Ethio-Eritrea Peace and Friendship Agreement has started work, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
During his visit to Eritrea, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed disclosed yesterday that the leaders of the two countries have agreed to work jointly in diplomacy, transport, boundary affairs, use of port, and trade as well as African and international issues.
Foreign Affairs Minister Workneh Gebeyehu held here today a press conference on the visit of the Premier to Eritrea.
At the conference, the Minister stated that a joint committee that implements the agreement reached by the leaders in Asmara is formed.
The main committee will be chaired by foreign ministers of the two countries that comprise sub-committees under them.
The main committee, which started work officially today, is expected to deeply review the issues raised in the agreement and propose different ideas, he added.
According to him, Ethiopian Airlines will start flying to Asmara next week.
