The United Arab Emirates welcomed the decision of the Security Council to lift the sanctions imposed on Eritrea. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation welcomed the lifting of the sanctions imposed on Eritrea, where the Security Council resolution was adopted to strengthen historic reconciliation in the Horn of Africa. 
The UAE expressed its conviction that the decision on Eritrea represents a fundamental development that enhances the chances of stability, development and investment in Eritrea and its surroundings and reflects positively on the region.
