Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir is scheduled to visit Cairo on Monday for a one-day visit to discuss bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern and to boost relations between the two countries in various fields, a diplomatic source said on condition of anonymity.

 Over the past few weeks, the Egyptian-Sudanese relations have witnessed an improvement under the guidance of the political leadership of the two countries, to move on the state of consensus in the visions on the common issues between the two countries, in light of the relationship witnessed during the last period of tension led to the intervention of the two presidents to solve the crisis So as not to worsen.

 A four-way meeting was held between the Egyptian and Sudanese foreign ministers and the security and intelligence chiefs of the two countries last February after the directives of the political leadership of the two countries. The two countries issued a joint statement to "confirm the principles of comprehensive strategic relations between the two countries, And respect each other's concerns, respect internal affairs and work together to maintain the national security of the two countries.

 The statement stressed the two countries' resolve to further enhance cooperation in the fields of energy and electricity interconnection, land, air and sea transport, infrastructure projects, and benefit from the advisory and executive expertise available to both countries and to emphasize the importance of developing joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the Nile water fields. Signed between them, including the 1959 Convention.

 The two sides agreed on the need to work towards implementing the outcome of the Egyptian-Sudanese-Ethiopian tripartite summit on the Nahdha dam which was held in Addis Ababa as part of the implementation of the Declaration of Principles signed in Khartoum on March 23, 2015, stressing the importance of addressing the concerns of the two parties in a framework of brotherhood, To achieve lasting solutions that realize the aspirations of the peoples of the two brotherly countries, prevent media interferences, convey the correct picture of the eternal relations between the two countries, and work together to conclude the media honor pact between the two countries. They also reject the abusive treatment of either people or leaders.
