The authors conclude that risks and tradeoffs notwithstanding, China's increased engagement with Uganda is mutually beneficial and presents several opportunities for growth and development, including: (1) the re-location of manufacturing value chains from China to Uganda (ii) an alternative to traditional development financing and (iii) increased trade and FDI linkages.
