MOOROOKA: Mu'ooz Eritrean Restaurant (http://www.muooz.com.au/) and the
Hospitality Industry Partnerships have developed an interactive education
program to highlight the diversity of cultures at Moorooka.

The Mu'ooz Cultural Experience Program supports an existing unit in the
Hospitality Training Package and introduces school students to the diverse
Moorooka business precinct on Beaudesert Rd for a small fee.

Councillor Steve Griffiths (Moorooka) said for a small cost, students would
visit traders from diverse cultural backgrounds, have a tasting experience
and traditional coffee ceremony in Mu'ooz Restaurant, and listen to the
experiences and challenges others have faced in making Australia home.

The program is designed for groups of between five and 20 students.

"A number of schools have already participated with student feedback being
very positive," Cr Griffiths said.

"I encourage schools to take up this exciting and innovative option as part
of their students' educational experience.

"Mu'ooz Restaurant has rapidly become a hub of community activity where
cross cultural and culinary experiences break down barriers by providing a
hospitality experience second to none," he said.
