The driver of a truck that traveled from Italy to Spain heard noise in the trailer around Figueres (Alt Empordà), warned the Mossos d'Esquadra and when they opened the box they located 15 immigrants - 13 men and Two women - of which 11 were from Eritrea and 4 from Ethiopia. All of them adults. With today's, there are three trutera trucks  located in less than 10 days in the counties of Girona. All had gone through Ventimiglia (Italy).
The carrier, of Romanian origin, had started the trip on Friday to Italy. He made five stops. The last one in this country was in Ventimiglia, a city of about 25,000 inhabitants located in the Liguria region. He followed a route through France, where he only made a stop to put diesel fuel and when he crossed the border of La Jonquera, at about 2:30 pm there was a noise in the truck box. In the toll of the AP-7 motorway in Figueres it took advantage of the Mossos d'Esquadra traffic point to stop and alert the agents. They opened the box and found the immigrants.
They were in a good state of health and explained to the police that they had paid a minimum of 20 euros to a person to tell them which truck to go up. After taking their statements, the Mossos transferred them to the police station of La Jonquera of the National Police, which has jurisdiction in foreign affairs, and this same Saturday afternoon have been returned to France by the readmission agreement for undocumented immigrants .
In eight days, 27 immigrants have been located in the counties of Girona, illegal immigrants traveling in trucks from Italy. The first of them was detected on February 9. The driver of a truck carrying Ventimiglia mattresses in Valencia arrived at a service area of the AP-7 motorway in the south, specifically at kilometer 35. Once there he felt noise inside the box of the Truck and before the possibility that someone could call the Mossos d'Esquadra. They found four men of Tunisian origin.
On February 14, the driver of the company Mascotrans Lógistics de Celrà who came from a trip to Italy, found eight people hiding in the truck box . The Mossos found eight Eritrean immigrants. Three of them, aged 17, were at the disposal of the Directorate General for Child and Adolescent Assistance (DGAIA). The adult immigrants of both trucks were also returned to France.
The investigations focus on the hypothesis that it could be that all the groups of sparrows had helped to hide themselves between the cargo of the trucks and that they had climbed to the vehicles in the city of Ventimiglia. Supposedly, the immigrants tried to travel to France, but when they did not open the box in that country they could not lower. Ventimiglia, on the border of Italy and France, has become in the last months in a new bottleneck of immigrants.
