Since Joe Biden announced his intention to seek re-election to the US presidency recently there has been much discussion of his questionable job approval and favourability ratings. But are we looking at the wrong numbers? Charles R. Hunt, Assistant Professor of Political Science, at Boise State University thinks so.
In the article below, he writes: “If former President Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee – right now he’s leading the primary polls by a fairly wide margin – then Biden is in better shape than the analysts and pundits give him credit for.” This, says Hunt, is down to the political phenomenon of “negative partisanship”.
Such feelings will doubtless play a part in how many cast their vote in the upcoming Turkish election. But can a divided opposition really trouble President Recep Tayyip Erdogan? Khalid Al Bostanji of Australian National University reports.
And did you catch South African soprano Pretty Yende singing at the coronation of King Charles III? Here’s a unique insight into this remarkable talent.
