In short, Martin Schibbye travels to Eritrea on a journalist visa to follow up last year's reporting session and see what has changed in the country.
- The plan is to interview ministers, students, workers and military personnel and ask questions about everything from the border conflict and sanctions to the situation of freedom of the press. Those who want to contribute perspective and knowledge are welcome to join the Facebook Group for Monitoring the Region: "Mission: Eritrea and Ethiopia".
In the fall, Blankspot has also met over 1 100 students in 20 schools across the country in a school project focusing on journalism and democracy .
These thousands of students will be able to follow Martin Schibbye's report in field, via the schools own Facebook groups.
"I will also seek answers on their questions during the trip," said Martin Schibbye.
The report series from 2016 is available here.
