20-year-old Glimmenaar confesses double murder

A 20-year-old man from Glimmen has announced that he killed a 23-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter.
The bodies of the victims were found on 14 October in a house on the Jufferslaan in Haren.
Charging cord
The woman was strangled with a cord of a telephone charger, and was also stuck in her neck. The girl was suffocated with a cloth. The agents also found a 1-year-old child in the home. That was unharmed.
Thursday was the first non-substantive session in Groningen. The man, from Eritrea, did not appear. He is twice accused of manslaughter.
Residential status
The victims also came from Eritrea and had temporary residency status. The suspect is currently being psychologically examined. His family in Eritrea is also heard in the investigation into the Glimmenaar's past.
The second session will be held in March. The case will eventually be dealt with on May 28 or June 7.
