The young rider from Eritrea Natnael Mebrahtom won the first stage of the Tour de l'Espoir on a street circuit in the streets of Douala . This is the first victory of his career after winning the ranking of the best climber in the Tour of Rwandalast November. He also managed to trap today the Rwandan laureate Joseph Areruya who was present in the great breakaway that had taken shape from the first kilometers. There was also another rider from Eritrea Zemenfes Selemunand it was this team work that allowed the young Natnael Mebrahtomto fly to victory 5 kilometers from the finish. He passed the line 27 seconds ahead of the other five riders who were part of the big breakaway. He will wear the yellow leader jersey tomorrow for the second leg.
