Moavero opens the Italy-Africa conference: "We are on the same side"
ROME - "Italy wants to be at the side of Africa" and it does so by focusing on culture, "fundamental for knowledge among peoples and capable of speaking to people's hearts": this is the Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi, opening Maxxi of Rome the Second Italy-Africa conference. According to Moavero, the Museum of Contemporary Art was chosen as the symbolic place of the inauguration. "We are all on the same side, Europeans and Africans" said the minister. "Compared to the past today, the path can be different: we embark on paths of peace, cohabitation, respect and mutual enrichment". The first conference was held in May 2016. Today, faced with the leaders and delegates of dozens of sub-Saharan countries, Moavero added: "Italy wants to be at the side of Africa and hopes that you representatives of African nations can welcome it as escort of your future destiny ".
MATTARELLA: "CONTRASTING CONTINENT DISUGULES"Supporting the growth of Africa, preventing at the same time the emergence of inequalities, "stopping the progress of every society": this is the line drawn today by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella regarding Italy's commitment to and with Africa .
