das Thema ist nicht das heben von, sondern warum Sanktionen überhaupt?
Der UN-Sicherheitsrat hat heute die ungerechtfertigten Sanktionen aufgehoben, die im Dezember 2009 bzw. 2011 auf Eritrea verhängt wurden.
Die Regierung von Eritrea begrüßt diese verspätete Entscheidung zur Wiedergutmachung von Ungerechtigkeit, fast ein Jahrzehnt nach schändlichen Handlungen, die zu einem unhaltbaren Schaden für das Land geführt wurden. An dieser Stelle würdigt das goe die starke Missachtung des Volkes von Eritrea im Land und im Ausland gegen Ungerechtigkeit; auf ihre charakteristische Widerstandskraft und Geduld im Angesicht der Widrigkeiten. Außerdem dankt er allen Freunden von Eritrea, die ihr moralisches Gewicht hinzugefügt und auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise zur Aufhebung der Schmähliche Sanktionen beigetragen haben. Herzlichen Glückwunsch an alle!
Aber selbst wenn wir die Seite dieses dunklen Kapitels drehen und uns auf die Zukunft konzentrieren, müssen wir darüber nachdenken und uns über das, was passiert ist, Gedanken machen; warum eritrea unnötig geopfert wurde; was waren die Dynamik, die eine Farce der internationalen Gerechtigkeit auf dieser Skala untermauert hat ?
Und hier ist das Urteil glasklar. Die traurige Tatsache ist, dass drei frühere US-Verwaltungen (die Clinton, Bush und Obama-Präsidentschaften) eine verfehlten Politik zur Unterstützung regionaler Proxies oder Anker, des Tigray-Regimes im Falle äthiopiens, im Rahmen einer Uni-Polar-globalen Ordnung verfolgt haben. Die wichtigsten Säulen dieser Politik sind:
• Schüren und Konflikte zu schüren, um das daraus resultierende Chaos zu bewältigen;
•, und Institutionalisierung von ethnischen und die Polarizations;
• die regionale Integration und die Zusammenarbeit zu untergraben, um ein günstiges Klima für eine mutwillige Einmischung zu schaffen.
Die Symptome und das Erbe dieser Misere werden in unregelmäßigen Fackel von ethnischen Auseinandersetzungen dargestellt, die Äthiopien weiterhin sich, sowie in den akuten gesellschaftlichen Gespaltenem, die heute in Somalia und südsudan vorherrschen. Die durch diese Realität ausgelösten Komplikationen und externen Interventionen haben unweigerlich ein fruchtbares Klima für die Kräfte des Terrors und der Subversion geschaffen.
Die schädlichen Folgen dieser fehlgeleiteten Politik in Bezug auf den Verlust von Leben, Vertreibung, Migration, wirtschaftliche Benachteiligung und Armut waren in der Tat beträchtlich. Irreparablen Schaden und Verlust der Chancen waren, eingefahrenen an die mehr als 150 Millionen Menschen, die das Horn von Afrika-Region bewohnen.
Wie es geschieht, ist die Litanei der gegen Eritrea begangenen Fehler, die: Anstiftung zu sinnlosen Grenze, endgültige militärische Übergriffe; politische,; unerbittliche Kampagnen der Isolation, Verleumdung und psychologische Kriegsführung; wirtschaftliche Strangulation; und letztlich die ungerechtfertigten Sanktionen, die im Jahr 2009 verhängt wurden. Mit der unwissenden Komplizenschaft der p5; kann man nicht außerhalb des
Kontextes dieser fehlgeleiteten Politik gesehen werden. Unnötig zu betonen, dass der Schaden, der auf Eritrea entstanden ist, in der Tat enorm war.
Darüber hinaus haben die vergeblichen versuche, die Sanktionen durch fadenscheinigen Vorwände zu erhalten und zu verlängern, auch nachdem alle Lügen ausgesetzt waren, das Unrecht, das Eritrea verhängt wurde, verschärft.
In diesem Fall trägt der VN-Sicherheitsrat die Verantwortung, das Unrecht zu ändern, und zwar über und über die Aufhebung der Sanktionen hinaus. Die Regierung und die Menschen von Eritrea werden daher ihre Bemühungen um Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit mit der bloßen Aufhebung der Sanktionen nicht aufgeben.

Issue is not the lifting of, but why sanctions in the first place?
The UN Security Council has today lifted the unwarranted sanctions that were imposed on Eritrea in December 2009 and 2011 respectively.
The Government of Eritrea welcomes this belated decision to redress injustice, almost a decade after nefarious acts were taken inculcating indefensible harm on the country. At this juncture, the GOE pays tribute to the vigorous defiance of the people of Eritrea inside the country and abroad against injustice; to their characteristic resilience and patience in the face of adversity. It also expresses its gratitude to all friends of Eritrea who added their moral weight, and contributed in different ways, to the lifting of the ignominious sanctions. Congratulations to all!
But even as we turn the page of this dark chapter and focus on the future, we must ponder on, and take stock of, what transpired; why Eritrea was needlessly victimized; what were the dynamics that underpinned a travesty of international justice on this scale?
And here the verdict is crystal clear. The sad fact is three previous US Administrations (the Clinton, Bush and Obama Presidencies) pursued a misguided policy of propping up regional proxies or anchors, the TPLF regime in the case of Ethiopia, within the framework of a uni-polar global order. Key pillars of this policy included:
• Stoking border disputes and conflicts to manage the resulting mayhem;
• Fomenting and institutionalizing ethnic and factional polarizations;
• Undermining regional integration and cooperation so as to create a conducive climate for wanton interference.
The symptoms and legacy of this malaise are illustrated in sporadic flare-ups of ethnic strife that continue to beset Ethiopia, as well as in the acute societal fragmentations that prevail in Somalia and South Sudan today. The complications and external interventions spawned by this reality have inevitably created a fertile climate for the forces of terror and subversion.
The deleterious consequences of this misguided policy in terms of loss of life, displacement, migration, economic deprivation and poverty have been considerable indeed. Irreparable damage and loss of opportunities were callously inculcated to the more than 150 million people who inhabit the Horn of Africa region.
As it happens, the litany of wrongs committed against Eritrea that include: instigation of senseless border disputes; outright military assaults; political subterfuges; relentless campaigns of isolation, defamation, and psychological warfare; economic strangulation; and ultimately, the unwarranted sanctions imposed in 2009 with the unwitting complicity of the P5; cannot be seen outside the context of this misguided policy. Needless to emphasize, the damage incurred on Eritrea has been enormous indeed.
Furthermore, the vain attempts carried out to maintain and extend the sanctions through flimsy pretexts even after all the lies were exposed have exacerbated the wrongs meted to Eritrea.
In the event, the UNSC shoulders a responsibility of effecting amends to the wrongs done; above and beyond the lifting of the sanctions. The Government and people of Eritrea will not thus abandon their efforts for truth and justice with the mere lifting of the sanctions.
