Eritrea dominates the first two days of the Africa Cup
In Eritrea has started yesterday the new show Africa Cup , a series of male and female events all registered in the international calendar of the UCI: to dominate the first two days of competition were just the home team with four wins in four races played. Yesterday the team time trials were scheduled: double gold medal for Eritrea which left behind Rwanda and Ethiopia among men, Ethiopia and South Africa among women.
Today has been dedicated to individual time trials. The men's race ended with four Eritreans in the first four places of the order: smiles Sirak Tesfom who covered 36 km in 42'50 "spacing Aron Debretsion of 1'29", Daniel Habtemichael (first U23) of 1 '42 "and Henok Mulubrhan of 2'32"; Ethiopian Temesgen Buru and Rwandan Moise Mugisha finished fifth and sixth respectively.
Among the other women of Eritrea's success with Adiam Tesfalem who scored a time of 26'16 "that allowed her to get behind 20" the Ethiopian Mihret Asghede and 30 "the South African Liezel Jordaan. The first two of the absolute finish order were also the best Under23 in the race.
