The National Union of Eritrean Women branch in Montreal Canada, community members, and HIDRI(youth) commemorated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the union with patriotic enthusiasm. The commemoration took place on the 23rd of November 2019, in connection with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the National Union of Eritrean Women.
The (NUEW) Montreal branch of the union passionately celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the union. Hence, branch President of the HAMADE in Montreal, Mrs. Alem Abbay, and Mr. Fitsum Berih the Locally representative of The Consulate General Of the State of Eritrea officially opened the event.
In the opening remarks, Mrs. Alem Abbay gave briefing focusing on the struggle the Eritrean women conducted in the past 40 years to realizing the national independence, safeguarding the national sovereignty & contribution towards the national development drives.
Furthermore, Mrs. Alem reaffirmed that the branch (NUEW) members will continue to carry out the commitment of yesterdays to fulfill the vows of today. She concluded by calling for strengthening organizational capacity simultaneously with the new era unfolding.
The Nationals in Montreal, Canada, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the founding of the NUEW featuring various programs to portraying the 40 years the journey of the union and concluded with patriotic zeal.
