Hamdouk emphasizes importance of returning to peaceful negotiations in Ethiopia

Khartoum,(SUNA) - Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk has asserted the importance of regional security, the work for stopping the conflict in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia as soon as possible, and the return to peaceful negotiation and avoiding wars.

This came during his meeting today in his office in the Council of Ministers, with the Eritrean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Osman Saleh, and the envoy of the Eritrean President, Mr. Yamani Gubrab, in the presence of acting Foreign Minister Omer Gamar Eddin, during which the visiting Eritrean delegation conveyed greetings of Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki to the Prime Minister.

The meeting has discussed the issues of common concern between the two countries, and ways to enhance regional security in light of the conflict in the Ethiopian Tigrayan region, and its implications on the region’s security.

The meeting has also stressed on the importance of the region’s unity and the defusing of the conflict in its countries.
