March 10 this year held a meeting with the adviser to the President of Eritrea on financial, trade and economic issues, the head of the economic bloc of the Popular Front for Democracy and Justice Party, Hagos Gebrehiwet.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the world and in Eritrea, in particular. The ambassador spoke about the work carried out in Russia to create a vaccine to combat COVID-19.
Taking into account the earlier expressed interest from the Eritrean side in the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, the interlocutor was given a package of informational materials on this vaccine.
H. Gebrehiwet, in turn, promised to study the documents together with the country's Ministry of Health for possible registration of the vaccine in Eritrea.
On March 12, 2021, Russian Ambassador to Eritrea A. Yarakhmedov met with the Minister of Culture and Sports of Eritrea Z. Tekle.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation in connection with the spread of coronavirus in Africa and the world in general, as well as the state and prospects of cooperation in the field of culture and sports of the two countries.
Separately, A. Yarakhmedov announced the decision of the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation
to provide assistance to Eritrean athletes in the form of sending a batch of Sputnik V vaccine to Asmara.
March 11 this year Russian Ambassador A. Yarakhmedov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea O. Saleh at the request of the interlocutor.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, interaction at international platforms, including the UN.The parties noted the existence of prospects for the development of Russian-Eritrean cooperation in various areas, as well as a high degree of interaction on international platforms.
