The Yellow Jersey, Christophe Laporte, fails in 4th place but retains his yellow jersey, tied with the winner of the day.

The Frenchman, victim of several falls in recent months, has been chasing a great victory since the first stage of the Tour de France 2021 . He had to settle for two stages, the Tour of the Basque Country and the Tour of Wallonia, and the Ardèche Classic. This victory puts him back on track for the next Tour de France, where he will be the leader of his Belgian team.
