Tour 2024: Biniam Girmay no longer to be caught in battle for green jersey

Biniam Girmay is mathematically certain of victory in the points classification of the Tour de France . With only the final time trial to go, the Eritrean can no longer be overtaken by Jasper Philipsen , the number two in the ranking. Of course, Girmay still has to meet the time limit in the time trial to Nice, but that will probably not be a problem for the rider of IntermarchΓ©-Wanty .
Girmay has collected 387 points after twenty stages. That is 33 more than Philipsen. It is impossible for the latter to catch up with Girmay, because in the final time trial the winner can only earn twenty points. Even if Philipsen miraculously wins the time trial, the green remains in the hands of Girmay.
