Trump’s Already-Failed Ukraine-War Policy

The only way that U.S. President Trump will be able to avoid blame for the now-inevitable victory by Russia in the Ukraine war that the Obama-Biden Administration started in February 2014 by its bloody coup that grabbed control of Ukraine in 2014 and which U.S.-controlled Ukrainian government then finally provoked Russia to invade Ukraine in order to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO so that a U.S. nuclear missile could become placed there only 300 miles or five minutes of missile-flying distance away from obliterating Russia’s central command in The Kremlin, would have been for Trump to admit publicly that that Obama-Biden plan was evil to begin with and for him to deliver a speech laying out for all of the American people and the people of Europe, that the Military-Industrial-Complex-(MIC)-driven U.S. Government (invading Iraq 2003, Libya 2011, Syria 2012-, providing the weapons for Israel to exterminate the Gazans in 2023-2025, etc.) will now be replaced by a Government that respects and honors the national-security interests of EVERY country, no longer seeks conquest — not by means of illegal sanctions, not by means of coups, not by means of invasions, not by any means at all. In other words: it would be for this new American President (unlike his last time around) to come clean on all of post-1945, MIC-led — and especially post-1991, post-Soviet-Union — NATO, America’s anti-Soviet military alliance, which OUGHT to have been ENDED when the Soviet Union itself did.
Just as the United States, in the 1962 Cuban Missiile Crisis, had an existential national-defense need to prevent a Soviet nuclear missile from being posted in Cuba a mere 1,131 miles away from obliterating America’s central command in Washington DC, Russia has an existential national-defense need to prevent an American nuclear missile from being posted in Ukraine a mere 300 miles away from obliterating Russia’s central command in The Kremlin. Therefore, it’s high time that an American President will come clean and admit this fact publicly. Not ONLY would Trump then become instantaneously America’s best President after the time of FDR, but he would be respected as such, throughout the world. However, Trump’s existing Ukraine-War policy is NOT that. Instead, he is demanding that Russia give up on its requirement to permanently exclude Ukraine from NATO membership, and for Ukraine to be permanently prohibited from joining any alliance with the U.S. against Russia. It’s the eqivalent of what JFK had demanded of the Soviety Union, and it was right then, and it is right now.
Instead, Trump is planning to increase economic sanctions against Russia, and to give Israel the green light to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities — Iran, which is allied with Russia, which might then bomb Israel in return.
Furthermore, on January 6th, the Financial Times headlined “Trump’s ambitious oil plans will not derail Russia: It would still be very disruptive to try to embargo Russian oil from the world markets altogether”, and reported:
Donald Trump’s … idea of weaponising America’s status as the world’s largest oil producer to strip Russia of the oil revenues funding its war in Ukraine … has two main points: [1] that the US could flood the market with its crude, driving prices lower and pushing out expensive Russian barrels, and [2] that increased US production could make it possible to embargo and sanction Russian oil exports altogether without causing a shortage and sending prices sky-high.
There is already a wave of scepticism among both oil industry analysts and insiders over the viability of the 3-3-3 economic plan announced by the Treasury secretary nominee Scott Bessent. [It’s described here.] This includes increasing US oil production by 3mn barrels a day, or an energy equivalent, by 2028. The cost structure of shale oil — the main growth engine of US oil production over the past 15 years — is such that, according to the Dallas Fed, oil producers need on average a forecast of $64 a barrel price to drill a new well. Quite a few existing wells would be shut down if the price falls below $50 a barrel. The government might cut some red tape and make more federal land available for drilling, potentially offering opportunities for more prolific wells with a lower break-even price, but those changes would not have a drastic impact. …
Trump’s foreign policies utterly fail, even before they’ve started: they just continue the evil policies of his predecessors, though perhaps using different tactics. His choice of the neocon Elbridge Colby anti-China fanatic as the #2 at the Pentagon will mean war with China. Colby wrote “U.S. grand strategy for contesting China’s aggression must be redefined”, and by “aggression” by China (instead of against China, which it would actually be), he was referring to China’s refusal to allow the U.S. to switch away from its treaty-commitment made with China in 1972 that “Taiwan is a part of China.” Colby demands abandonmment of that “Shanghai Communiqué” negotiated by Henry Kissinger. The U.S. Government now wants Taiwan to formally declare itself to be NOT a part of China so that China will then invade Taiwan so that America will then invade and try to conquer China. This is yet another evil U.S. foreign policy, which is adopted from Biden but made even worse by Trump. Instead of Trump’s reversing Biden’s armament of that “part of China,” he wants to expand these arms-shipments.
Trump’s Presidency is set upon multiple neocon courses toward disaster. He needs to change entirely his voracious militaristic imperialistic foreign policies before he becomes the President on January 20th. Otherwise, he could turn out to be even worse than his recent predecessors were. It could destroy the world.
