Trump will now have to conquer Denmark to get Greenland.

On January 24th, the Financial Times headlined “Donald Trump in fiery call with Denmark’s prime minister over Greenland” and revealed that “The US president spoke to Mette Frederiksen, the Danish premier, for 45 minutes last week” and “insisted he was serious in his determination to take over Greenland,” but she continued to say “that the island was not for sale”; and, so, “‘The Danes are now in crisis mode,’ said one person briefed on the call. Another said: ‘The Danes are utterly freaked out by this.’” Furthermore: “the call with Frederiksen has crushed such hopes [for a peaceful resolution], deepening the foreign policy crisis between the Nato allies.”
Back on January 8th — even prior to Trump’s becoming President — the BBC had reported that he “suggested the island is crucial to military efforts to track Chinese and Russian ships, which he said are ‘all over the place’. ‘I'm talking about protecting the free world,’ he told reporters.”
In other words, he believes that the U.S. Government polices the entire world and is “protecting the free world,” instead of defending only itself from the ‘unfree world’ (whomever those nations might happen to be, but definitely to include both China and Russia, and certainly NOT to include the United States itself, which is instead ‘the protector of the free world’); and that this policemanship to “protect the free world” from some U.S.-designated “unfree world” gives the U.S. Government not only the right, but the responsibility, to take any country or part of any country it wants, so as to “protect the free world,” even if that would mean for the U.S. Government to take away from its formally ‘allied” nation Of Denmark, its “county” (colony) of Greenland.
Why is the entire leadership of the EU and of NATO not announcing in bold and clear terms, that the U.S. Government now is all but declaring itself to be their enemy (endangering them all, even though the U.S. Government is formally their CHIEF ‘ally’ and even their ‘protector’). What kind of ‘protection’ is THIS? And how stupid is Donald Trump, to be trying to take Greenland from Denmark, which has repeatedly made clear that it won’t DO any such ‘deal’?
Greenland is owned by (it’s a colony of) Denmark — specifically, it is a county of Denmark, that was granted “home rule” by the Queen in 1979, in an Act which, as Wikipedia describes it, “gave Greenland limited autonomy, with its own legislature taking control of some internal policies while the Parliament of Denmark maintained full control of external policies, security, and natural resources.” So, everything that Trump wants and now demands from Greenland (control over Greenland’s natural resources and foreign policies; i.e., to make it a colony of the United States instead of Denmark) is legally under the control of Denmark, unless and until Denmark either voluntarily or involuntarily transfers ownership of it to the U.S. Government.
So, there are only two ways in which he can get it: either by purchasing it from Denmark using U.S. taxpayers’ dollars for that purpose, of negotiating with Denmark’s Government a sale of Greenland to the United States; or else, if no such agreement can be reached, he would order U.S. troops, planes, ships, weapons, and ammunition, to invade Denmark and conquer it, so as to take Greenland from Denmark involuntarily. Such an invasion would be an action by the U.S. empire against the Danish empire, to expand the U.S. empire to include Greenland.
This is creating a crisis in Europe, almost all of which (Europe) is itself merely colonies of the U.S. Government, and Denmark is one of those, being a member not ONLY of the U.S. created and controlled military alliance against Russia, NATO, but ALSO of the U.S.-controlled (and also created) European Union.
For the U.S. to go directly to war against a fellow-member of BOTH of its European ‘alliances’, would create the crisis of compelling each one of the U.S. regime’s OTHER European colonies, to support and join either the U.S., or else the Danish, SIDE of this new American war. So: the relative silence — or at least softness — of each and every other one of the U.S. Government’s ‘allies’ (colonies) in the EU and NATO, regarding WHERE THEY THEMSELVES STAND on this now-blatant U.S. threat to Denmark, indicates enormous FEAR of their ‘protector’ and ‘ally’, the United States Government.
Does this place the war in Ukraine (which the U.S. Government started in 2014) in a different light, for them? (Perhaps Putin should now start offering bilateral treaties with each and every one of them in order to end all empires, including the last-remaining one, the U.S. empire, and to transfer to ONLY a greatly strengthened U.N. the SOLE authorization to apply international sanctions and invasions, so that any rogue regime such as the U.S. Government will be either forced OUT of the U.N. or else it will finally — which it never yet has done — submit itself to internatiional laws and to end its attempt to replace those by U.S.-dictated “international rules.”)
Alternatively, Trump can simply back down now and admit that his threats to Denmark were wrong. Maybe he would be able to dump and replace one or more of his advisors and blame THEM for what he’s now doing — it was “bad advice.”
