The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, received today at the Farnesina the Economic Advisor of Eritrean President Afewerki, Hagos Ghebrehiwet.
The talks focused on the main regional political and security issues, on which the Deputy Minister reiterated Italy’s traditional support for stability and development in the Horn of Africa.
Economic and trade relations between the two countries were also on the agenda, with a view to deepening Italian-Eritrean cooperation in line with the principles of the Mattei Plan and with the operational follow-up to the meetings held by President Afewerki on the sidelines of the Italy-Africa Summit in January 2024.
