Today, U.S. President Trump announced as follows the failure of his proposed ‘peace plan’ that was supposed to end the war in Ukraine:

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is boasting on the front page of The Wall Street Journal that, “Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There’s nothing to talk about here.” This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama, and is not even a point of discussion. Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory but, if he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired? The area also houses, for many years before “the Obama handover,” major Russian submarine bases. It’s inflammatory statements like Zelenskyy’s that makes it so difficult to settle this War. He has nothing to boast about! The situation for Ukraine is dire — He can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country. I have nothing to do with Russia, but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever. The statement made by Zelenskyy today will do nothing but prolong the “killing field,” and nobody wants that! We are very close to a Deal, but the man with “no cards to play” should now, finally, GET IT DONE. I look forward to being able to help Ukraine, and Russia, get out of this Complete and Total MESS, that would have never started if I were President!

On 4 December 2024, I had headlined “Reuters reports Trump is set to continue Biden’s policies on Ukraine.”, and pointed out that Trump’s policy on Ukraine (the policy of his appointed Ukraine war negotiator, the neocon idiot Keith Kellogg) continued Biden’s basic policy, which was to falsely assume that the war in Ukraine had started in February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine, and NOT in February 2014 when Obama perpetrated a bloody coup in Ukraine that installed there a rabidly anti-Russian government on The Kremlin’s doorstep, thus presenting a dire danger to Russia’s national security, to which danger Russia ultimately responded by its February 2022 invasion.
Based upon that false assumption, Russia was viewed by Trump, just like under Biden, as being the aggressor that had STARTED this war — America WASN’T the aggressor (against both Ukraine and — ultimately targeting — Russia) when it started that war in Ukraine on 20 February 2014.
In my article on 4 December 2024, I explained why Trump’s ‘peace plan’ had already many times been rejected by Russia on account of his plan’s requiring Russia to allow violation of Russia’s repeatedly stated national-security “red lines.” But it took Trump this long — till April 23rd — finally to recognize that Zelensky too rejects it. So, obviously, Trump’s plan has been rejected by BOTH sides (as all of the intelligent analysts had been predicting it would be).
By the idiot Trump’s continuing refusal to acknowledge publicly that this war was started by Obama — NOT by Putin — he has thus trapped himself into needing now to explain to the American people why he will let the ‘evil’ Putin do whatever he needs to do in order to permanently prevent Ukraine from ever being a member of America’s anti-Russian military alliance NATO. Trump is thus ignorantly taking upon himself the blame for failing to win the war that Obama had actually started there. Trump couldn’t bring himself to blame Obama for having started this war; he couldn’t bring himself to telling the American people the truth about this war and who had actually started it. Trump’s continuing dissembling to the American people will thus greatly reduce his support by the still-deceived (about the war in Ukraine) American people, and this will greatly increase the chances for a Democratic Party landslide in the 2022 mid-term elections. (I’m not saying that this would be a bad or a good thing: both Parties are corrupt to the core, controlled by the billionaires who fund them.) Trump will then have been stupidly undone by the Obama curse.
