Koblenz (Rhineland-Palatinate) – After two severed women's hands were found on the A45 near Olpe, police discovered a dismembered body over the weekend. Not only the hands, but also the head are reportedly missing.

BILD learned this from investigative sources. After a woman found the hands on November 17, a homicide squad from the Hagen police ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) took over the investigation. Based on stored fingerprints, it was quickly determined that the hands belonged to a 32-year-old mother from Eritrea. Now, a matching body has been found. It has been taken to the forensic medicine department, where a DNA comparison will provide final confirmation. The woman's head has not yet been found.

A monk found the African woman's baby.

The African woman's three-month-old infant had been found unharmed in a stroller the day before the hands were discovered . It appears that unknown persons had abandoned the stroller in front of Kröffelbach Monastery in Waldsolms (Hesse).

A monk from the monastery noticed the crying baby around 6:30 p.m. It was wrapped in a wool blanket, and two slips of paper bore the child's name and date of birth. The monk immediately called the police and emergency services.

Investigators were initially baffled. "The background of the crime is still completely unclear," they stated at first. Officers could not rule out a personal motive such as revenge, nor could they rule out ritual mutilation. The woman lived with her child in an asylum shelter in Bonn.

Partner reportedly arrested abroad

The murdered woman 's partner , also Eritrean (42), had initially disappeared. He was first sought as a possible witness. Now he is said to have been arrested abroad. Whether he killed the woman is still unclear. Police and prosecutors initially declined to confirm the arrest.

Police had recently been seeking witnesses who had seen a silver car near the monastery. A spokesperson said: "The vehicle, with Bonn license plates, turned around in a small lane at around 6:30 p.m."

People who have made unusual observations on the A 45 between the Olpe-Süd interchange and Freudenberg (between the Großmicke and Unterm Hipperich parking areas) have also been asked to come forward.
