The 21-year-old Eritrean runner is reigning world champion in the marathon and won last month’s New York marathon. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro ended Ghebreslassie fourth. The Ethiopian old-winner Dawit Wolde in Egmond on January 8. Other contenders are Tesfaye Abera (also from Ethiopia), Ykalo Fsaha (training partner of Ghebreslassie from Eritrea) and Kalipus Lomwai from Kenya.
