They Live through us: Eritrea’s best children.
They live today, and they lived in the past;
They live even though they Sacrificed,
They live through us for they are ours to last.
Wives, Husbands, brothers, Sisters families torn;
They live through us even though they gave their lives,
We cherish them and for them, we mourn.
They live but its seems like they are gone forever,
They live even though their souls may seem like it's lost;
Like them, we must know that freedom comes, with cost.
They Live because we enjoy a free Eritrea,
An independent Eritrea that they did preserve;
They live through us, let’s honor them,
that’s the least they deserve.
On June 20th, never ever shall we forget;
Because we owe them our lives, we are in debt.
