"This summer, Mekonen Andemichael and his brothers went to visit his parents hometown, Asmara, Eritrea for the first time. This week, the family received a horrific news: Mekonen got involved in a tragic car accident. Although he was one of the survivors, he is critical condition. Mekonen is in a coma with severe life threatening injuries. Currently, the healthcare system in Eritrea is not advanced, therefore leaving him at a dead-end for further treatment. We desperately need to send him to Dubai where he can be treated for his severe injuries.
Mekonen is from White Plains, MD, and he is a 20 year old son, brother, cousin and friend to many. Everyone who has ever met Mekonnen knows he is a loving, kind, special and authentic soul. He lives his life with an open heart and has high aspirations for his future. During this difficult time, we are asking you to give whatever you can to help cover the cost of the exorbitant medical expenses and transport out to Dubai.
